PURPOSE OF JOB:
As the Senior Market Development Specialist at DataMaster, you will play a crucial role in client acquisition, market development, market expansion, client retention, and product adoption, ensuring our clients derive maximum value from our appraisal data management software. You will be a primary point of contact for both internal and external audiences, responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships. The goal is to drive customer satisfaction, loyalty, and product adoption, ultimately contributing to the company’s growth and success.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a proactive ambassador for and raving fan of DataMaster in the appraiser and MLS markets.
- Think proactively, anticipate customer needs, and provide consultative advice about future industry initiatives, compliance changes, and workflow optimization using the data software tools.
- Conduct outbound marketing and sales initiatives to target audiences, such as appraisers, appraisal management companies, MLS entities, and others, including calls, emails, video emails, surveys, or other similar communication. (Possible occasional travel for conferences or large sale opportunities as warranted)
- Drive the development and launch of new products, features, or enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align market and product development efforts to support strategies to identify, contact, and create qualified appraiser leads.
- Schedule and conduct product demos for potential subscribers. Effectively communicate the value proposition of our software to all audiences, internal and external, to increase subscription-based software sales.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Collaborate on developing sales pitches and presentations; attend and contribute to regularly scheduled sales and product training meetings.
- Develop and execute account-specific (MLS area) growth plans. Build and identify strong relationships with key MLS leaders, understanding their business objectives and challenges. Target opportunities for market expansion with MLS partners, improving DataMaster’s market share.
- Manage and nurture the relationship development process to promote brand visibility and generate interest in target markets and industries. Monitor market activity to identify key industry influencers, sentiment, and industry trends. Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis.
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to initiate and document all interactions and communications with internal and external constituents on a timely basis, ensuring the integrity of workflows, reporting, and analytics. Use data analytics to measure product and account performance.
- Provide regular Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports, including activities, conversions, and other lead and lag measures to evaluate processes and make data-driven decisions.
- Work together with customer support managers (CSMs) to guide new customers through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition to our software.
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their goals, challenges, and objectives. Create raving fans earning referrals, testimonials, and other customer feedback that can be used in the feedback loop for sales initiatives and communication of product value proposition.
- Product Knowledge: Develop an in-depth understanding of our appraisal data management software and stay updated on new features and updates—support product development for multiple data product initiatives throughout the company. Participate in UX and User Acceptance testing as required.
- Renewal Management: Work closely with the CSM team, Customer Support team, and Development team to ensure customer renewals, capitalize on upselling opportunities, and communicate customer needs.
- Customer Advocacy: Participate in product roadmap discussions to communicate customer needs and assist in creating testing plans to meet customer needs.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business marketing or a related field.
- Proven experience in relationship development, sales, or sales management roles.
- Appraisal, valuation, lending, software, or real estate industry experience and knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Experience using CRM software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Tech savvy; familiar with business process automation and excited about solving business problems with technology; Familiar with HubSpot, Salesforce, or other similar business management software, a plus
